GAME LOG

Providence guard commits to TCU. Who is he? Jayden Pierre started in 63 of his 97 games with the Friars, including all but one of his last 64.
APRIL 7 • PROVIDENCEJOURNAL.COM
Commits to TCU Pierre has committed to TCU, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
Impact Prior to December for TCU's 2024-25 team, its primary backcourt included Noah Reynolds. The required duo added Vasean Allette after his aforementioned teammate's latest injury. While healthy for TCU, Frankie Collins (foot) was part of the Frogs' primary backcourt before he suffered a season-ending fracture. Reynolds maximized his collegiate eligibility. Allette and Collins entered the NCAA's transfer portal. Fortunately for TCU's team, Pierre lessens its backcourt worries. While a Providence junior, the combo guard logged 12.3 points and 2.1 three-pointers made per game.
APRIL 6 • ROTOWIRE
Leaving Providence Pierre has entered the transfer portal, Joe Tipton of On3.com reports.
Impact Pierre spent three seasons at Providence and is coming off his best of the bunch. He put up 12.3 points, 3.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 three-pointers per contest. Pierre will likely see a lot of interest as an experienced guard who is a good shooter.

Ushers Friars to win over Nova Pierre notched 19 points (6-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-5 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block over 40 minutes during Saturday's 75-62 victory over Villanova.
Impact Pierre was incredibly solid over the Wildcats, scoring the most points on the court and logging his best scoring game since early January. The junior guard has now scored double-digit points in his last seven outings, and he'll look to make it eight as Providence travels to Georgetown this upcoming Wednesday.

Leads Friars to road win Pierre recorded 16 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 69-67 victory over Seton Hall.
Impact It was Pierre's best scoring effort since Jan. 8 and just enough to help Providence pick up its second consecutive win and improve to 5-5 in Big East play. The team must find offense in any way possible following Monday's announcement that Byrce Hopkins (knee) would miss the rest of the season, and that starts with Pierre, the Friars' leading scorer at 12.9 ppg.

Drops 24 points in near upset Pierre had 24 points (8-16 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 37 minutes during Sunday's 87-84 loss to UConn.
Impact Pierre led the scoring front for the Friars in the tough loss, tying his season high in field-goals made but dropping a campaign-best 24 points. Although the starting point guard propelled Providence with a 12-point lead before half, he wasn't able to rack up the same impact as they were outscored by 15 in the second. He'll look to continue his team-leading scoring tear as they take on Butler at home on Wednesday.
JANUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
16 points in near win Pierre provided 16 points (4-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 33 minutes during Friday's 72-70 loss to St. John's.
Impact Pierre put together his best performance of the month in the close loss, scoring his best tallies in points and rebounds since the Friars' loss to Indiana on Nov. 29. The junior guard also has logged eight straight games with double-digit points. Though Providence didn't get the outcome hoped against the Johnnies, Pierre has been a consistent option on the offensive side and should continue to be moving forward.

Back to full minutes in win Pierre ended Tuesday's 60-51 victory over Hampton with 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 32 minutes.
Impact Pierre has been restricted in the earlier games of the season with a groin injury, but he reverted to 32 minutes in the win over Hampton, which was the second-highest on the team. The junior guard also logged a season-best 13 points, although only three games have unfolded, and his output should continue to heighten as he continues to sustain full games in the coming weeks.
NOVEMBER 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Remains on minutes restriction Pierre (groin) continues to see his minutes restricted as he makes his way back from a groin injury, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Pierre has seen an average of 23.5 minutes per game across Providence's first two games as he continues to work his way back to full strength following an offseason groin injury. The 6-foot-2 junior averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.8 steals across 31 starts with the team last season, and he should return to his normal role soon.
NOVEMBER 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ready to go for opener Pierre is set to play in Monday's game versus Central Connecticut, college basketball journalist Kevin McNamara reports.
Impact Pierre will play in Monday's opener after dealing with a groin injury late in the preseason. He started 31 of 32 games last season and averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.4 minutes per game.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Groin injury causes preseason DNP Pierre did not play during Providence's charity game Saturday against Massachusetts due to a groin injury, per sports journalist Kevin McNamara.
Impact Pierre being out resulted in Providence's starting backcourt including Miami transfer Bensley Joseph and rotational starter Corey Floyd. As a result, Pierre's injury status is questionable as the 2024-25 Friars prepare for their season opener against Central Connecticut on Nov. 4. According to a later post by McNamara, Pierre is among all but one player (Bryce Hopkins) he believes can be ready by then.
